Tech support and computer help

Not everything is a repair. Sometimes you need someone to sit down with you, set things up, and explain it in plain English. Walk into either store, or let us connect remotely.

Computer help for seniors in Schaumburg and Des Plaines

A lot of what we do is not fixing something broken. It is helping someone get a new laptop working, get their photos off an old phone, stop the pop-ups that keep asking for a credit card, or understand why the printer stopped printing. Bring the device in and we sit with you. No jargon, no rushing, and we write down what we changed so you have it at home.

If a family member set you up and now lives far away, we are the local pair of hands. Many of our regulars come in a couple of times a year for exactly this.

Remote support when you cannot come in

If the computer turns on and can reach the internet, we can usually fix software problems without you leaving the house. You call, we send you a link, and you run a small program that lets our technician see your screen. You stay on the phone the whole time and can end the session at any moment. The access code changes every time, so nobody can connect again without you.

  • Confirm the computer starts and gets online
  • Call the store and we send the connection link
  • Read us the ID and password it shows
  • We diagnose and fix while you watch

IT support for small businesses

Offices in Schaumburg and Des Plaines that are too small for an IT department call us instead. We handle remote maintenance, on-site network and printer work, workstation setup, and recovery after ransomware. For ongoing needs we can set a regular schedule. Ask at either store.

Common questions

Do you make house calls?
The Schaumburg and Des Plaines stores do their work in store or remotely. Our Lake Zurich store does make house calls in the northwest suburbs; call 847-381-7960 to check availability for your address.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in during store hours. If you want to be sure a technician is free to sit with you, call ahead and we will set a time.
Is there a charge to look at it?
Diagnostics are free. If the help you need takes real time, we tell you what it will cost before we start.
Can you help with my phone or tablet too?
Yes. Setup, backups, moving photos and contacts, storage full warnings, and app problems on iPhone, iPad and Android.
