Stop using the device

How data recovery works here

We look at the device in store and tell you what we found and what recovery would involve, with a quote before any work starts. Most jobs, such as a dead laptop with a healthy drive, a failing drive that still reads, a Mac with a bad board, or deleted files, are done in the shop. We copy your data to a drive of your choice and check it with you before you leave.

Some drives are physically damaged inside, usually the ones that click or grind. Those need a clean-room lab and cost a great deal more. If that is what you have, we tell you so up front rather than run up hours on it, and we help you decide whether the data is worth that route.

Water-damaged phones

A phone that went in the water and will not turn on can often be brought back long enough to get the photos and contacts out, even when the phone itself is not worth fixing. Do not charge it and do not put it in rice. Bring it in the same day if you can.
