Apple CarPlay is coming to Hyundai
Hyundai confirmed today that they’ll be incorporating the highest anticipated touch based car audio and nav system ever in a historic partnership with Apple by featuring CarPlay in 2016. If you’ve been following our blog you know that CarPlay is a fully adaptive touch screen platform. Carplay works independently but can also be synced easily and quickly with your Apple family devices to bring you a seamless synergistic experience. See the picture below to get a taste of what you could expect to see later this year in the up and coming lineup of Hyundai models.
Carplay also allows you to integrate a lot of cool apps directly into it as a central hub including navigation as seen above and slideshows plus much more. You can also link it up directly with bluetooth and a wide variety of microphones and inputs. CarPlay also does not dis-include Android devices meaning that your Samsung, Moto, LG, HTC, and Google phones will all work almost seamlessly with Apple CarPlay. So far you can expect to see it rolled out in the Sonata but there’s also time to see if featured in other models. We’ll report more on the matter as information becomes available.
“Hyundai will offer more technology than ever before inside affordable Hyundai models, allowing owners not only to text message through voice commands and stream their favorite music apps, but also to make calls in a safer way, and navigate using phone-based, off-board navigation through the car’s screen and controls,” said Cason Grover, senior group manager, cross-carline planning, Hyundai Motor America. “As affordable car buyers are often younger, Hyundai aims to provide what they want most in their car – all the latest smartphone-enabled technologies at a lower price.”
