Currently, the city says it is collecting roughly $600 million in parking ticket revenue each year, as the region's Department of Finance is looking for a "convenient way for motorists to expeditiously pay their parking tickets via a smartphone or mobile device."   Apparently New York is interested in quicker payments on parking tickets and faster processing. Apple steals Christmas again As you know if you've been following out blog, Apple has been ramping up huge success with their latest dual release of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus (both of which we now repair at our Schaumburg location). Tracking information Flurry provided, Apple stole over 51% of new phone activations over Christmas season. Using data from more than 600,000 tracked apps, Flurry focused on the week leading up to and including Christmas, from December 19-25. Trailing Apple in worldwide device activations was Samsung with nearly 18 percent and Nokia at almost 6 percent. Did Apple just kill SAMSUNG?

Apple is moving in for the kill Samsung's third quarter 2014 earnings are likely to discourage investors as Samsung faces intense competition from both high-end and low-end competitors at the same time. According to the Wall Street Journal, Samsung is expected to announce a quarterly operating profit drop of up to 62 percent in what may be its fourth consecutive quarterly decline. What is the future of Samsung in terms of phones? Though it may see a marginal increase in smartphone shipments, Samsung's operating profit decline may be the result of lower handset selling prices and increased marketing costs as smartphone competition escalates. Apple is maintaining their strong position in the arena of high end smart phones while Chinese competitors are in full swing entering in the low end market (with much success). The combined attacks on Samsung's space can only mean one thing, that ... Read more

Not as bendable as you thought: iPhone 6+

Many are still crying about the iPhone 6+ Bendgate issue However the problem is actually not as bad as the media has made it out to be. Though it is true that the phone bends, it takes a significant amount of pressure and intensity to do so. Please see the power of science demonstrating this fact below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0-3fIs2jQs Consumer Reports' tests pushed the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus much further than [Apple's test of 55 pounds of force]. We started light, applying 10 pounds of force for 30 seconds, then releasing the force. Then we upped the force in 10-pound increments, noted when the phones first started to deform (that's what our engineers call it) and stopped the test for each phone when we saw the screen come loose from the case. So there you have it. Bendgate case is closed. HTC Our phone ... Read more
