New features of iOS10 for iPhone and iPad

cell phone repair palatineEveryone in the tech community is talking about iOS10 and for good reason. iOS10 is one of the biggest overhauls for Apple’s mobile operating system ever. The lock screen is changed, messages have changed, and now there’s split view coming to iPad and iPhone as well. Check out the video below to see all the neat new features that are going to be standard in iOS 10.

Highlights:

Unsubscribe: Apple will now have a built-in feature allowing you to unsubscribe from e-mails without having to search the whole e-mail to find a small unsubscribe link.

Voicemail Transcriptions: In the new iOS10 you’ll be able to see your voicemails in the form of readable texts. So if somebody calls you and leaves a voice message, Apple will interpret what that person is saying and send you a written version to your phone.

iCloud Drive: you’ll now be able to see all of your documents in the iCloud drive and you’ll be able to add and upload your own files as well, including Word documents and spreadsheets as an example. This is just the beginning for the massive overhaul we’re seeing coming up with the Apple iCloud.

Sleep Metrics: If you want to make sure you’re getting at least 8 hours of sleep, you can now program you iPhone to tell you when its time for bed so that you can wake up 8 hours later. This might seem like it’s not a big deal but ever since the Fitbit came out, thousands of users have been requesting something like this from Apple. You’ll also be able to see a timeline of your sleep schedule after that fact.

Every year there’s a huge conference for all the big dog PC companies in the best place you’ve never heard of, Taipei. HP, Dell, Asus, and all the other members of the PC family get together and mostly determine how they’re going to come closer to developing the almighty “Macbook Killler” the same way you might expect mobile phone providers do to compete with the iPhone. ASUS Transformer Book T100HA

T100HA.0 ASUS TRANSFORMER BOOKWow, this laptop looks amazing at first glance. This is one of Asus most successful products in years which is similar to the Microsoft Surface Pro 3. It’s a full on touch screen tablet with Windows pre-installed on it featuring a detachable keyboard and it’s everything you want form a PC. Its about 20% thinner than the previous version they released last year and it will have Windows 10 pre-installed by default. There’s also really strong magnets on this one which will help with the keyboard docking to make sure you get a really great fit as you would expect to feel using a regular laptop. The screen measures diagonally at 10.1″ with a native resolution of 1280 x 800 and has a manufacturer rated 11-hour battery life thanks to new developments with batteries and LED lighting technology. It also features the new USB Type-C port so you’ll get super fast transfer speeds with portable hard disks and it will charge your phone super fast. Out of the box you’ll get 4GB of memory and 128 GB of storage.

The XPS is a larger version of the XPS13 which was so popular just two years ago. Gizmodo rated the XPS 13 the “Windows laptop to beat.” It appears this version will be a continuation of what we’ve seen in the past and if that’s truly the case, the outlook is very strong:

2 USB 3.0 ports

HDMI port + SD Card slot

Hi-Def 4k Screen

Intel Skylake Processor

Acer Z3-710

acer z3-710What a familiar design. By now Apple fanboys are switching to a different webpage. For those PC lovers who stuck around, you’re in for some great news. It may look like an iMac imitation made by Acer but the reality is that that it’s a full-on tablet with a built-in mount for sitting on a desk and a traditional mouse and keyboard connected wirelessly. The tablet is just 1.4″ thick and is expected to be around 12″-14″ in terms of screen size featuring touch-screen capabilities and possibly a 4k resolution though the details remain unconfirmed on the production model. We don’t even have a price range on this one yet because it’s so new. To be clear, the touch screen will be separable from the desktop mount.
