Apple is building a technical Fortress- not kidding

The images show the steel and glass components being tested by Josef Gartner outside of its premises, and could hint at the scale of Apple's new Campus 2 building upon completion. The building will have a circular, multi-story structure surrounded by greenery, additional buildings, performance stages, a fountain, and more.  Construction at Apple's "Spaceship" Campus has been progressing at a rapid pace in the past few months, as the company most recently began putting up the outer walls and laying roadwork. Now, iFun.de (Google Translate) shares new photos of the steel and glass material that will be used for the campus' facade, which are being provided by German company Josef Gartner GmbH.  Construction at Apple's Spaceship campus is continuing at a rapid pace, according to new images posted to Twitter by KCBS news and traffic reporter Ron Cervi. Cervi has been taking aerial shots of the campus to track construction ... Read more

Apple is getting BASHED

We're all pretty well aware of Samsung and Apple's hateful relationship but are these commercials desperate or just plain taking it too far. Last week, Samsung released an anti-iPhone ad calling iPhone users "wall huggers" in a promotion for its Galaxy S5 smartphone. Today the South Korean company is promoting its new Galaxy Tab S with two new anti-Apple advertisements, bashing the iPad's lack of multitasking and its screen. In the first ad, Samsung features a crying baby and a dad fighting over an iPad that's unable to display two apps at once. The baby wants to watch a movie while the dad is trying to catch a sports game. A Galaxy Tab S, which can display multiple apps at once, is swapped for the iPad, and suddenly both dad and baby are happy. You have to ask yourself though, isn't this whoel ... Read more

APPLE Integration: Coming to a vehicle near you

In just five years, Apple's CarPlay API for iPhone integration will dominate the auto industry and will be installed in more than 24 million vehicles, according to ABI Research. I'm personally way beyond ready for full Siri integration and iPhone compatibility. The resonating echo of Steve Jobs' "synchronicity" keeps striking me every time I see this. As for myself and millions of other Apple users (though I don't consider myself an Apple fanboy) I love the functionality and intuitive nature of Apple devices. The quality design is lasting and effective through years of use and generally affordable to maintain and repair. When I saw this article posted earlier on Macworld I had to jump on it because it's a dramatic outward sign that the future is rushing towards us at unprecedented speed. It also makes me wonder about how ... Read more

Who is leading the pack in the smart phone industry?

Apple continues to be the number one handset manufacturer among consumers in the United States and has also made small gains in operating system share, according to ComScore's newest monthly survey of U.S. mobile phone users covering the February-May 2014 period. Apple's smartphone market share increased from 41.3 percent in February to 41.9 percent in May, allowing Apple to retain its position as the top handset manufacturer. Samsung also made small gains over the period, rising to 27.8 percent share. LG, Motorola, and HTC's share fell slightly. While Apple is the top handset maker, iOS has always fallen behind Android when it comes to operating system share, given the large number of Android-based phones on the market. Apple did make small gains during the period, however, rising to a new all time high of 41.9 percent, up from 41.3 percent in February. Android, in comparison, ... Read more
